Go Speed Racer, Go! by Phillip-the-2 Go Speed Racer, Go! by Phillip-the-2
Shot I took during a photo shoot at work featuring the only officially licensed Mach 5. Among other things, it has been featured on the Speed Channel, was in the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and at Megacon 2010.

Underneath it's really a 1966 Corvette....and yes, those saw blades actually work.

Cool ride.  Too bad they trashed a classic Vette to do it, but still cool.

Here's a professional shot of the same: www.sondersphotography.com/Pho…

The difference being a $50k+ 80MP Phase One....or my old crappy 8MP cell cam.

There's actually a company that makes kits for it, but this one in particular (hand-built from scratch) is the only officially licensed one.

I have a small shrine to this piece of automotive perfection, complete with framed schematics and multiple models of the Mach 5 and Shooting Star. Truth be told, my obsession with the Mach 5 started back in the early-to-mid 70's and has carried forward into adulthood.

If money weren't a factor, I'd be all over one of these conversions. :)
